Municipal Historical Museum
This museum is located in the town hall of Valencia, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. It is one of the most complete municipal archives in Spain, it began in 1238 with the reconquest of Jaume I.
The museum has four rooms with symbolic elements. The first shows five plans with the evolution of the city. In the second, there are a total of 46 engravings from the eighteenth to the nineteenth century.
In the Sala del Furs we can enjoy mural paintings and a neo-Gothic display case containing the first ‘Llibre dels Furs’. Finally, in the Provincial Hall some relics of the history of Valencia are preserved, such as the Royal Senyera, the Sword of King Don Jaime or the painting of The Immaculate Conception.
Admission is free. Its opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
