MUVIM

The MUVIM is a modern museum in Valencia dedicated to the ideas, culture and values that have shaped modern society. It offers permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as cultural activities, workshops and audiovisual projects.

The MUVIM, or Valencian Museum of the Enlightenment and Modernity, is a cultural museum located in the historic centre of Valencia. Opened in 2001, the museum is dedicated to exploring the ideas and values that have influenced modern society, with particular attention to the period of the Enlightenment and the changes that followed.

The museum presents a combination of history, art, science, culture and modern thought. Its exhibitions show how people’s ideas and ways of living have changed over the centuries and how these changes have influenced the society we know today. One of its main attractions is its permanent exhibition, which uses different forms of media and interactive elements to make history and culture more interesting and accessible to visitors.

In addition to its permanent exhibitions, the MUVIM regularly hosts temporary exhibitions about different artistic, historical and social topics. It also organises conferences, workshops, educational activities and other cultural events throughout the year. The building itself has a modern and attractive design, creating an interesting contrast with the historic surroundings of Valencia’s city centre.

For tourists, the MUVIM is a good place to discover the cultural and intellectual side of Valencia. It offers a different experience from traditional museums and monuments and is especially interesting for visitors who want to learn more about the development of modern society, culture and ideas.
