The Post and telegraph building is located in the Town Hall square. It was built by the architect Miguel Ángel Navarro between 1915 and 1922 and inaugurated in 1923.
The eclectic style is predominant, although it also has some elements of Valencian modernism. It is notable for its monumentality, typical of 20th century buildings that were used for postal and telegraphic communications.
The main façade is irregular in plan, although apparently symmetrical. It is dominated by two Ionic columns and a round arch with allegorical figures.
It has four floors and more than 9,400 square metres, making it one of the most important examples of the city’s historical heritage.
Inside the building there is a metal tower and a spiral staircase leading to a bay window. The centre of the interior is crowned by a glass window designed by the Mauméjean brothers and made up of 370 panels, with a central one made of brass that symbolises the Post Office in the city of Valencia.
